India’s young and talented batsman, Manoj Tiwary, is fervent to focus on lashing big scores during the ongoing domestic season with a view to impress the selectors and get a call from the national side; however, he is not so impatient about it.
The right-hander knows it well that his few centuries and even double hundreds at the domestic level cannot ensure his berth in Team India as there is an intense competition among some youngsters for the middle-order slot. With just 5 ODIs and 1T20I to his
name, Tiwary is an ambitious contender, along with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SK-Raina-c2539.
The maverick batsman is currently leading the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kumar-Shri-Ranjitsinhji-c71870 Trophy tournament. His batting show has been outstanding so far, earning victories for the team. He also admits that he has performed well, but wants more to strengthen his case. Moving
ahead from his 200-run knocks, he eyes a triple ton.
Talking to the media today, Tiwary said, “I am happy that I have done a good job so far, but this is just the beginning. I have to ensure that I can score a few more double hundreds this season to stake a claim. But I don't think this is my last opportunity
to break into the national team. I still have age on my side and if I can keep scoring, I will surely be in the reckoning.”
He further told, “Having scored four double hundreds and three scores above the 150-mark, all I am concentrating on is a triple ton."
Like many other brilliant Indian cricketers, Tiwary is also a product of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has played 67 T20 matches so far, while representing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders in the fourth season of the event.
The 26-year-old also possesses outstanding records in First-Class and List A formats, scoring 3957 and 2252 runs respectively. He staged his International debut in 2008 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 during the last home series.
The Bengal-born guy is optimist that his age will surely allow him to stay and shine at the International stage.
