Los Manos boss acknowledged they are not performing at optimum levels, but believes their hapless start to 2012/13 La Liga season cannot be solely attributed to their exhibitions on the football pitch.
Following their impressive form at the tail end of 2011/12 La Liga season, Real Zaragoza opened the current term with a bang. La Romareda based entity outclassed Real Valladolid in their opening fixture, but has failed to live up to their reputation since.
The following six fixtures have seen them register five defeats, with a 3-1 victory against Osasuna sandwiched in between.
Real Zaragoza head coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manolo-c23349 Jimenez, took out time to reflect on their start to the season, admitting that they have flattered to deceive so far.
He lamented the club's poor start, attributing their form to plethora of injuries that have marred the Aragonese club, whilst admitting that summer 2012 transfer window signings have yet to hit their stride. Jimenez was also critical of the playing surfaces
Zaragoza have played on at the Cornella-El Prat and Anoeta.
“There have been several factors that have prevented us from adding more points,” he told terra.es. “The delay of new signings, the state of the pitch at La Romareda and injuries to key players.
“I think if those things had all gone our way, we would have got six more points. It does not look good, but I would be more worried if we weren't playing well.”
Continuing on the topic, Manolo Jimenez took out time to reflect upon N’dri Romaric. He hailed the experienced Ivory Coast midfielder as one of the best and believes he will make his mark in the current La Liga edition. The Seville born manager commented
that Romaric has been unlucky with Zaragoza so far, and believes he will come good in the future.
“With Romaric, I'm looking forward to Monday and giving him a kind of pre-season!” he quipped. “He's 100 per cent one of the best midfielders in the world though. He's just been unlucky so far.”
After the international break, Real Zaragoza travel to Los Carmenes to resume La Liga action. A victory for Jimenez’s men against fellow relegation contenders will take them to as high as 12th position on the points table.
