Manu Ginobili, Ray Allen: Ranking the NBA aging super stars – Part 2
9. Manu Ginobili:
The league is dominated by point guards these days and despite being 35 years old Manu Ginobili remains one of the strong point guards in NBA with the ability to shoot from distance as well. Though he had a bit slow start to the
season he has picked pace now and remains the integral part of the San Antonio Spurs offence.
Ginobili is maintaining a healthy scoring average along with his decent assists ratio. He injects energy into the game and continues to generate amazing passes. Though he had his share of injuries this season; he had a back injury
and missed a couple of game at the start of the season due to that. But he has been coming into his groove lately and doing some solid defensive work along as well and has been handling the ball extremely well in December. If the continues to perform on the
level that led him to an average of 14.4 points per game in the last year playoffs, Coach Gregg Popovich will wish for nothing more.
8. Ray Allen:
Boston Celtics will be regretting their decision to trade Ray Allen to Miami Heat now as he has made an impact there immediately. Though he is not a part of the big three here and has his minutes on the court reduced down to 27
from the career average of 36.7, but these are the compromises he knew he was going to make when he signed up for Heat.
Though he is coming off the bench for the first time in his 17 year old career, he has settled in the role of a sharp shooter and is usually brought in the later quarters for his phenomenal shooting.
He was offered a reported 12 million dollars by the Boston Celtics but he decided to join the Heat though they offered about 10 million dollars, but he believed the prospect of him winning a trophy is much more at Miami Heat than
at Boston. With him settling in with Dwayne Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh, and the way the Heat are going so far this season we may very well agree with his decision as Heat marches on dominantly towards the playoffs.
