My fiance has been working for a property management company for a little less then a year and was made General Manager a few months ago. When he started working there he was starting at 7am and usually getting home around 5pm-6pm. We just had our son 2 motnhs ago and ever since then she has been working the crew till 8-9pm at night but not paying them over time. He works 70 hours or more a week and still has no overtime pay. Now our son is in the hospital and is very sick and his boss knows that. they have a different kind of relationship then most bosses do with their workers. they are very rude and not afraid to show it. Our son has been in the hospital for a week now and my fiance has been working till 8-9pm at night still and his bosses demoted him saying he lets his crew slack off because they come in so late yet they give them tons of jobs to do. i was wondering if my fiance has any rights. working 14 hour days 6 days a week and overtime. its manual labor. Also on their checks his bosses put that he makes 123 a day and 4 hours a day. My fiance said she does that to save hers and her husbands butts. we need help.

  1. The situation you describe seems to involve both state and federal wage and hour violations.  You might first seek help from the state and federal government departments dealing with wage and hour violations, choosing the offices nearest you.  They should be listed under Government Offices in the Phone Book.  It may also be to your advantage to contact a Legal Aid or Legal Advice clinic in your area.
