  1. Auto drivers are just tooo tiered to drive a manual but manual is more cooler

  2. Well I've driven an 18 wheeler, auto, and manual.  Well as you know the 18 wheeler is manual i think that the manual driver is a thinker who is always on the go,  While the auto driver is a person who enjoys peace and would rather be somewhere relaxing.

  3. Its all preference. Not about being better or not in driving terms? I drive a manual as well as an auto. I learned on a manual and my main is a manual 6spd truck. But during city traffic, I would rather drive an auto. But I don't since i like to be in control of my RPM & shifting points. There are plenty of manual drivers that can even heel toe or even match rpm speeds great downshifting...Can you? Does that mean a manual driver suck over a manual driver?

  4. In the earlier years of auto transmissions there were definite advantages to driving a stick compared to an automatic.  However, with today's automatic trannies the performance and gas milages etc are equal to and sometimes better than what a manual trans produces.  I grew up on manual transmissions, drove them for years, and even so I much prefer the auto trans now.

  5. TO LOVER NOT A FIGHTER: he didn't say we thought we were cool, or that we drive faster, simply what we prefer, read question before answering! manual all the way, wouldn't dream of driving an auto, the lazy man's car. i'm from aus and auto's are more expensive as the gear boxes cost more to replace then manual so that is also an advantage of driving manual, that and you change gears when you feel the need to, not when the car thinks it needs to (hence the jump in gears sometimes)

  6. I learned to drive on manual and i gotta agree, it almost feels like someone else is determining how you drive on auto.

whenever i drive my gf's car which is an auto i always have my hand on the shifter and she is like wtf are you doing?  my response...stfu i am not used to driving a toy car.

  7. most are just taught on auto and they never try it... i had no close relatives to teach me so i bought a stick barely got it home and then practiced till i got it... but i think if you are taught on stick you are better cause you are used to paying attention to the road since you need to release clutch to stop and go faster so its different.

  8. I own a manual and an auto.

so I don't think I can call anybody names.

    Good Luck...

P.S.  I frankly don't care.  I've seen plenty of manual drivers think they are great, when they suck at driving.  Driving fast does not make you a good driver.

  9. I've had two manual cars, and two auto cars. I have an auto now and I love it. I'm a great driver, and auto has nothing to do with my driving. I don't know where you live, but California traffic sucks and I'm just too lazy to push in a clutch and shift.

  10. Being a Brit, 90% of our cars are manual.

You get better performance, better handling, due to engine braking, better fuel economy, and more fun.

I don't see myself ever driving an auto.

The only people who drive auto's over here are fat businessmen and the disabled (who have no choice)
