I've been trying to do a regular manual on a skateboard longer but when i hit little rocks i just stop and lose my balance. Im so sick of it, if i skate faster could i just go through it? And is there anyway i could improve my manuals?

  1. Skating faster doesn't improve your balance, you are just covering more ground in the same amount of time. You should already be going with a good amount of speed, but by going blazing fast, it makes little difference.

The way I learned to manuel well was by going to tennis courts (one of those tennis courts with a few in a row with no fences in between). I used the lines as my goal, so I started small and went bigger and bigger. I learned nose manuels the same way. Then, I went to some low ledges, and continued from there.

  2. Skating faster would help your balance, but you shouldn't be manualing through rocks, the reason people use manual boxes and pads is for the smooth surface,  find a nicely paved spot and manual there, noone can handle themselves that well in gravel.
