Manuel Charr defends streak and title successfully by nailing Taras Bidenko unanimously – Boxing News
Manuel Charr, the owner of the WBC International Silver heavyweight champion, not only strengthened his long win streak but also successfully defended and retained his gold against the Ukrainian pounder Taras Bidenko, the former WBA Inter-Continental heavyweight
champion, in a 12-round skirmish held on March 30, 2012.
The event was promoted by the duo of Manuel Charr of Diamond Boy Promotion and Erol Ceylan of EC Boxpromotion and the ring for the Friday night show was stretched at Maritim Hotel situated in Cologne, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.
Manuel-Taras bout headlined the event whereas the German International heavyweight title skirmish between Christian Hammer and Alexander Kahl, co-headlined the night. Manuel, the surging Syrian young lad, was entering in his career’s 21st bout. Widely known
as the Diamond Boy, Charr has won all of his skirmishes and nailed 11 of his opponents via knockout.
His proficiency, agility, brawling style and footwork has already mesmerised the boxing fanatics and critics who, after his current win over Taras, are hypothecating the 27-year-old Charr as the possible future heavyweight champion.
Manuel in his Friday night engagement literally created an upset since before the bout he did not had much odds in his favour. The orthodox Manuel, who was in front of his hometown crowd, was seriously overshadowed by Taras’ experience.
Taras, the former owner of the WBA Inter-Continental heavyweight gold was entering the ring for the 33rd time. The world number 96 Taras, has won 28 of his total skirmishes and collected just 12 wins by knockout.
Manuel from the very beginning of the bout juts kept on blocking Taras’ slightly raw powered jabs and did not allow him to penetrate his defence. In the first and second round, Charr threw well calculated jabs that connected Taras inflicting maximum damage.
The left-right powerful combinations did not intimidate the Ukrainian heavyweight and he kept on moving in attacking Charr with all his might. Manuel, who brawls on behalf of Germany, countered each and every jab thrown by Taras effectively and at the end
of the eighth round the score difference was simply minute which was evident of the fact that the battle is going toe-to-toe.
Both pugilists strived hard to collect a knockout win but were unable to do so. The bout ended with the ring of the 12th round and all the three designated judges unanimously awarded the bout to Manuel Charr allocating the scores of 116-111 in his favour
on all the three cards.
Manuel has improved substantially in the world rankings and his current feat is a notable one since being a heavyweight and having a 21-bout long win streak does prove that the young lad has something in his powerful arms that might threaten the top ranked
heavyweights in the division.
