Manuel Marquez vs. Fedchenko undercard announced by Zanfer promotions – Boxing News
Undercard fights for the Manuel Marquez vs. Sergey Fedchenko event was announced earlier today. The event will take place at the Nueva Arena Mexico in Mexico City on April 14. Marquez will fight Sergey Fedchenko for the WBO interim jr welterweight title.
As of now, the undercard features three fights of ten rounds. The first fight will be between between Saul ‘FIera’ Roman and Richard Gutierrez. Saul Roman, who stands with 34 wins, 9 losses and 29 knockouts in his portfolio, will take Richard, who has 26
wins, 8 losses, 1 tie and 16 losses in his portfolio, at the middleweight level.
The second bout will be between Daniel ‘Galeno’ Sandoval and Michel Rosales at the welterweight level. Daniel currently stands with 26 wins, 2 losses and 26 knockouts in his portfolio, while Michel Rosales stands with 32 wins, 4 losses and 26 knockouts in
his bag, which makes this fight an exciting one since both the pugilists are somewhat of the same calibre.
The third fight will between Juan Francisco ‘Gallo’ Estrada and Jonathan Lecona at the super flyweight level. Gallo currently holds 20 wins, 1 loss, 1 tie and 16 knockouts in his portfolio whereas Lecona has bagged 10 wins, 10 losses, 2 ties and 4 knockouts
in his career to date. Of course, in this fight, Lecona is the underdog since has had quite a shaky career.
Two more pugilists are featured for the event but their fights are not yet scheduled. Jorge Lacierva and Alonso Lopez are the two fighters that will be at the event in separate bouts but their opponents are not decided yet.
Manuel Marquez, who lost two fights to Manny Pacquiao previously, finds himself near retirement. He has been claiming a fourth match with Pacquiao, however the Filipino champion has shown no interest towards it. In his recent interview, Manuel Marquez has
been insisting on grabbing the WBO welterweight champion’s attention but to no avail. For now, he will be fighting Fedchenko to prove his mettle. If Marquez wins and dominates the fight, chances of his rematch against Pacquiao will be a bit higher.
