The Bavarian giants are overflowing with belief after they beat their Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund in the German Supercup on Sunday, with the help of their star player.
Bayern Munich goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424 stressed that FC Hollywood outfit has the firepower to defeat any competitor, following their 2-1 win over the current Bundesliga Champions Borussia Dortmund last week.
The Allianz Arena club were on the losing side in the last five clashes against the German double winning team, prior to their DFL-Supercup match. Die Roten changed their fortunes and the trend of facing defeat at the hands of
Dortmund, by winning and now the veteran goalkeeper is assured of a good season ahead.
The reigning League and Cup champions have dominated over Die Bayern in the previous two seasons and that has led to increased unrest in the Munich camp. Therefore, they have made high profile signings in order to bring the glory
back to the most successful team in the country.
The former Schalke 04 player has expressed that Der FCB is prepared to mount a challenge for every title they participate in and also suggested that they can become unbeatable after overcoming the BVB in the offseason opening fixture.
"We have shown that we are ready for it, and that we can beat any team we face," Neuer was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the French international Franck Ribery insisted that winning the Supercup gives them a massive boost ahead of the new campaign as they failed twice last year when they lost the league title to Dortmund and then
went on to suffer a 5-2 thrashing in the DFB-Pokal cup by the same opponents.
Ribery suggested that it was a significant fixture for them and winning it gives them belief in their abilities and the desire to do better this term.
"This was an important game for Bayern. The win is a real confidence boost for us," the Frenchman noted.
Bayern start the upcoming campaign with an away trip to the newly promoted side Greuther Furth and will be hoping to improve on their second finish standing in the league.
