The Bayern Munich goalkeeper believes that the Reds will find it tough in the German Cup quarter-final game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424 has admitted that Bayern Munich will be under pressure in the German Cup quarter-final against VfB Stuttgart after a string of unfavourable results recently in the Bundesliga. Both the sides will lock horns on Wednesday,
February 08, at the Mercedes-Benz-Arena.
Bayern’s performances have been under scrutiny after losing their lead at the top of the table after they played out a 1-1 draw against Hamburg in the Bundesliga last week. The Bavarian giants have only managed to secure four points
after the winter break in comparison to Borussia Dortmund, who have won all three fixtures.
As a result, reigning German champions, Borussia Dortmund, have displaced them atop the league table, and can face Jupp Heynckes’ side in the semi-final of the German Cup, having beaten Holstein Kiel 4-0 in the first quarter-final.
While talking to reporters ahead of their quarter-final tie, the former Schalke shot stopper further added:
"We are under pressure and have a bit of making up to do. We need to get the train back on track and get into the next round. We must not make any mistakes."
On the other hand, Bayern manager, Jupp Heynckes, confirmed that he intends to field a full strength squad against Stuttgart on Wednesday. He insisted that he wants to get his team back to winning ways by progressing through to
the semi-finals of the competition, alongside their fiercest title rivals, Dortmund.
“My team knows how things are, we have ambitions in the cup and want to progress, I am full of optimism," Heynckes concluded.
Bayern have won the German Cup on a record 15 occasions with their last win coming in 2010 against Werder Bremen. Schalke are the reigning DFB-Pokal holders, but find themselves out of the competition. However, Neuer has a chance
to win this competition twice in a row, having previously won it with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues last year.
Apart from Bayern and Stuttgart, Hoffenheim, Greuther Furth, Hertha http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 and Borussia Monchengladbach are also fighting for a place in the semi-finals of the competition.
