The Bayern Munich goalkeeper has expressed his disappointment on losing the UEFA Champions League at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 on Saturday.
The Bavarian giants lost the Champions League final for the second time in three years as they lost on penalties to Chelsea. The team was leading in the 83rd minute through Thomas Muller’s header until http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044
cancelled the lead just two minutes from time. The two sides failed to score in the extra-time and the game went on to penalties.

Neuer claimed that the defeat is a huge disappointment. He admitted that the team had the belief and were determined to win but the luck was not on their side. He insisted that some of the players are still in disbelief after the
loss and are finding it hard to digest the result.
“Defeats always hurt, but this is a moment in which we feel empty. I am a bit lost for words. We don't know how this happened, we always believed we could keep the cup here,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the former Schalke player rued missed chances throughout the course of 90 minutes and admitted that the penalty from Robben could have sealed the match. He claimed that Bayern dominated the proceedings for most
the game and then lost the game which is why it is more disappointing.
“We were always on top of this game, whether in normal time when we went 1-0 up, or in extra time with the penalty, we were just generally the better team over 120 minutes and then to be ahead in the penalty shoot-out, with everything
running for us, we had one hand on the cup. That is why it hurts so much,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich ended the season trophyless. The Reds reached the final of the Champions League and the DFB-Pokal but lost to Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund respectively. Jupp Heynckes’ side also failed to win the league as they ended
up second behind Borussia Dortmund.
