The Bayern Munich goalkeeper is wary of Monchengladbach’s threat ahead of his team’s second-half opener on Friday.
Bayern Munich and Borussia Monchengladbach will get this season’s second-phase underway with the game on Friday, January 20, at the Borussia-Park. The Reds goalkeeper believes that the Foals will not be easy opponents, while playing
at home, and Bayern will have to come out with something special to extract something from the game.
Neuer hailed Gladbach’s outstanding first-half of the campaign, insisting that the Foals would definitely be looking to get something out of Friday’s game. He urged his side to stay focussed and warned his teammates against complacency,
referring to Bayern’s 1-0 defeat on the opening day of the campaign.
While talking to UEFA.com, the 25-year-old German further elaborated:
“We are looking forward to this match, we have had great preparations so far. We know that Gladbach have had a great first part of the season and we know what to expect away from home. We will need to give our best and we need
to approach the game with great focus.”
The former Die Knappen player admitted that it was extremely difficult for him to part ways with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues especially having spent 20 years at the Gelsenkirchen.
He added that it was the most difficult decision of his playing career, but added that he's pleased to be a part of one of the top European clubs.
“Of course it was a difficult decision. I'm 25 years old, I lived in Gelsenkirchen for 25 years, and I played for Schalke for 20 years; to then make your first big step and leave the city to change to a new club, and make a change
in your life, was certainly something big for me at that moment,” Neuer concluded.
Neuer has so far started in every league game this season and has been impressive for the Bavarian giants. He has certainly been the best signing of the season for the Munich giants considering the inconsistent displays from Rafinha
and Jerome Boateng.
