playing in European competitive clubs put on hold.
Despite all the problems on and off the pitch, Los Anchovies managed to come through qualification for UEFA Champions League group stage, whilst also giving impressive performances in La Liga fixtures.
The coastal club have a busy week ahead of them, with a fixture against Levante on the weekend and their first ever Champions League group stage match against Russian Premier League outfit, Zenit St Petersburg.
As a result, Spanish sporting circles are rife with suggestions that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Axel-Witsel-c7029 led Zenit.
Pellegrini came out in the open to reject such suggestions, claiming that Malaga’s weekend clash against Levante is ‘the biggest game of the week’ for them. He stated that his charges are only thinking about the Valencian outfit at the moment, sharing that
La Liga is more important for them.
“We are only thinking about Levante, which is the biggest game we are playing this week. Once that has passed then from Sunday we can start thinking about the Champions League,” declared the Chilean tactician.
Pellegrini explained that Malaga are in a good position on the points table and with the match at La Rosaleda, they will not lose their focus in it.
“We are in a good position in the League. It is three very important points at home that we cannot escape from.”
“There is no indication that Levante are not as strong as last year, they have had two very good seasons. They have found getting into the Europa League no problem and in their last game they secured a great win over Espanyol. I do not see why they cannot
be considered a tough opponent.”
