I heard of a farmer who put a drum of cattle poo in the bed of his p/u truck as a digester and ran the thing around the farm. Has this been proven/debunked?

What enzyme did the guy use?

  1. I don't think this is even debunkable.

    It is pretty gross, though.

    If you need to drive a truck around with fermenting fecal material in order to preserve the environment, then we are all doomed!

  2. the cattle poo contains a certain enzyme that breaks down compounds in the soil.

  3. "Farm Manure & Compost Booster"

    ORGANIC WASTE DIGESTER & ODOR/GAS ELIMINATOR

    IN MANURE PITS AND LAGOONS, COMPOST HEAPS, & SEPTIC TANKS.

    "GREEN": "ENVIRONMENTALLY-RESPONSIBLE"

    "Farm Manure & Compost Booster" is a scientific blend of bacteria cultures, enzymes and microbial nutrients designed specifically for use in farm animal manure pits, lagoons, slurrystores, feedlots, and pens.

          Modern farming techniques have made the proper handling and disposal of animal manure a priority issue. Waste handling practices have changed to meet the demands of large scale commercial farming. Special manure holding and pumping systems have been designed to meet these special needs. These systems also hold down labor costs and reduce the hazards of  "TOXIC"  pit gas. Good sanitation is essential to keep animal herds healthy. The nutrient value of manure should be returned in the soil. Run-off must be minimized to prevent non-point pollution of surface waters. These practices will also keep odors to a minimum in surrounding areas.

          In these systems, "THE"  Bacteria and Enzymes in "Farm Manure & Compost Booster" will actively accelerate the digestion of organic waste. Regular use of the proper enzymatic/bacterial digester will establish and provide thriving colonies of waste-digesting bacteria to provide continuous, uninterrupted digestion of organic manure waste. While manure handling systems can vary widely in design and construction, ALL SYSTEMS will benefit from the use of this kind of enzymatic/bacterial digestant product. When treating a system, it is important to add the digestant REGULARLY to ensure that an adquate supply of this desirable bacteria is always present in the waste stream. The organic matter will be converted to harmless carbon dioxide and water as the bacteria perform their functions.Tbey boost the workload to  reduce  the build-up of solids in the pit, to increase the pit's effective storage capacity. At the same time, this accelerated digestion process will substantially reduce the generation of odors and dangerous "methane pit" gas. This organic waste is converted to a free-flowing liquid that can be pumped out, hauled, and spread quickly and easily. This treated tankage has excellent fertilizer value when applied to land.

    IN SUMMARY,

    "FARM MANURE & COMPOST BOOSTER" :

        * REDUCES THE BUILD-UP OF

          ORGANIC WASTE SOLIDS & GAS

        * INCREASE STORAGE PIT CAPACITY

        * MAKES PUMPING EASIER & FASTER

        * INCREASES FERTILIZER VALUE

        * ELIMINATES FOUL ODORS

        * EXCELLENT IN HOG, CATTLE, OR

          CHICKEN MANURE PITS

        * EXCELLENT IN FEED LOTS

        * EXCELLENT IN LAGOON SYSTEMS

        * EXCELLENT IN COMPOST HEAPS

        * EXCELLENT IN SEPTIC SYSTEMS

  4. well if the farmer was driving what more prove do you need

    And yes there are farmers who are driving on methane produced by the manure from their cattle

    their are also many people who cook on the gasses produced by their own poo via a bio digestor
