Many Australians chasing the PGA Tour card
A general trend has started that many of the golfers around the world are eyeing the PGA Tour card nowadays. The trend was mainly started by the Europeans as they switched over to the western side of the Atlantic.
After Luke Donald and Co, even the likes of Martin Kaymer and Nicolas Colsaerts have shown their desire to play on the PGA Tour.
However, more surprising is the fact that many Australians are chasing the PGA Tour card for 2013 season.
Adam Scott has been a one big Australian success story this year in the world of golf. Following in his footsteps, a group of Australians are currently trying to earn their PGA Tour card via Q-School.
Bryden Macpher is one of the many golfers making an effort to play on the PGA Tour. Bryden missed the cut this year at Masters and it was this disappointment that persuaded him to play on the PGA Tour.
Along with Macpher, there are a dozen other Australian golfers pushing for the tour card through Q-School.
A staggering 172-man field will take to the course at PGA West in Palm Springs in a final bid to earn their tour cards.
Only the top-25 will get the tour card for the 2013 season and it certainly will not be easy for the Australians out there.
The 22-year-old Australian knows it will not be easy at Palm Springs. However, after making it through the first two stages, Macpher is pretty confident about his chances to play on the richest golf tour of the world.
"If I had not have had to go through first stage I wouldn't have had the awareness and necessary attitude needed and if I started at second stage I would've been in the deep end a little bit," the Victorian says.
Macpher, who hails from Victoria, played some tremendous golf in the previous rounds and will be looking for a top-25 finish. "I feel very lucky I played well at the right time and now I have this opportunity," he shared.
Rod Pampling and Nick O'Hern are some other house hold names, making an effort to play in USA.
For Macpherson, Adam Crawford, Ash Hall and Luke Hickmott, this will be their first attempt for the PGA Tour cards.
"I am really just trying to hit each shot for what it is, not what it's worth," Macpherson said. "That's the big challenge for me and if I do that I can't tell you what I'll score but I can say I'll probably play pretty well".
Playing for the first time in States will not be easy but the task is certainly achievable.
