Many Thais are racist ?

The 2 times I've been to Thailand I was alone. What I use to do most of my time is hanging out with my Thai friends. I neither drink alcohol nor take drugs and I've never paid for s*x. (I did all those things in my teen-age period don't worry I know what it is...)

Although I'm not doing any bad I feel like some Thai men are racist to me. Actually 2 suspecting things happened to me. (Those 2 anecdotes were both in Bkk in none tourist areas) :

• Once I was walking with my best Thai friend in a night market. It was time for the market to close when a worker tried dangerously to bang me with a big container plenty of goods while transporting it. Just like he didn't see me...

• The second anecdote is very similar. It was an afternoon in a day market. I was walking with the very same friend when a Thai man tried audaciously to bang me with his motorbike...

Do many Thais are racist to white people ? WHY ??

Racist is a very much abused word nowadays. You can practically call everybody racist, and see them bend over backwards to apologize.

Personally I never experienced anything remotely racist: for example, take a seat on the bus, and somebody will sit happily next to you. Racists don't do that. Only if the seat next to yours is the last available on the bus.

I got some bad experiences, but that had nothing to do with racism. Some people are rude. Others simply don't know that westerners also have feelings. We are supposed to drool over Thai food, but some people find it perfectly acceptable to say that your national cuisine tastes like dogshit. That isn't racism, rather sheer ignorance.

What you might see is double, triple or quadruple pricing. Go to a national park.You see one price in western numerals and another much lower price in thai numerals. That's not racism either, but trying to reap in as much money as you can get away with. Everybody knows perfectly well it's not really polite, to say the very least. That is why they publish those figures in such a way you can't read it.
