Question:

Many incorrect accounts on my credit report.

I checked exclusively with Experian first then with all three. I put initial fraud alert on all three bureau's. I began the dispute process on all incorrect addresses, phone numbers, etc. When I began to dig further, there were even more (about 15) wrong addresses associated with my credit file, most of which were in Oregon and Killeen , Tx. So, I called several of the creditors and found that the accounts were not associated with my ssn. One lady told me to file a disassociation dispute but when i researched that with equifax and experian it seems like that is for people who need to disassociate with ex girlfriends or whatever. It seems very difficult to get a phone number to speak with a actual person at Experian, which is the only one reporting the faulty information on my credit report. So, what do I do. I can't get a loan for a dollar with a 520 credit score.

  1. Dispute anything that is not yours or inaccurate (use the on line form from the credit bureaus).

Don't speak with them over the phone because you have no proof once the call ends. Do everthing in writing and keep copies.

If they say the account(s) is still yours request a debt validation, again from the credit bureau NOT the creditor.

  2. Ones FICO score does not consider addresses or phone numbers in their calculations.  It may cause a creditor to deny a loan on the basis it looks like you can't keep a steady job or place to live.

Your score is low due to other more important factors listed on your credit report. Those are the ones you should be disputing.  Anything that is derogatory or negative lowers your score (judgments, liens, charge offs, collection accounts, late payments, etc).

I would still dispute those addresses, but do it by cerfitfed mail so you have a record, not on the phone or online.

    Hope this answers your question

  3. You should dispute everthing on your report that does not belong to you or is incorrect. Send them a registered letter rather than ordinary mail.

  4. dispute everything on your credit report and then it's the creditors job to prove that the accounts be long to you it takes about thirty days so you have to be patient and you may to dispute a few things twice before they are actually removed. you need to keep good records of al the people you have spoken with and request that you received proof that everything has been removed

  5. Send the credit bureaus an attempt to reinvestigate debt letter. Here is sample of the letter. Download and modify it. http://www.badcreditfixup.com/writing-cr...
