  1. There is a strong stereotype against stereotypes in society which has lead to a strongly simplistic and inaccurate belief about stereotyping. Simply looking at people beyond their race, gender, religion... (which is a good idea)..... does not exempt you from being a "stereotyper".

The reason is that we survive by making stereotypic judgments of erratic drivers in the next lane, weird smelling burritos at the gas station, college students with semiautomatic weapons in the next class room.

I don't know why we are surprised at people trying to make sense of the world with the imperfect information they have. Our knowledge is never perfect. We as humans don't always have time to learn whether dealing with this or that person or situation is going to lead to a good or bad outcome for us.  Being right about dangerous people and acting cautiously would seem to be less costly than being wrong, even using outdated or completely wrong assumptions.

The issue is with stereotypes which are unjust and/or harmful to others. It is also with people who do not check their assumptions against new information; which is something that cognitive research has demonstrated we all resist.

    Peace and best regards all.....

  2. yea they are ..

for example: blondes are stupid, white men cant jump, a "real man" who is adventurous, masterful, intelligent, and unshakable, black men are gangstas, chinese have small eyes, asians are smart ..etc.
