  1. So far your memory is correct. You can add Australian GP, Adelaide and 1994 to make it more accurate.

Both cars DNF, so Schumi who was leading in the points won the championship. Not a great day to remember though...

  2. i believe it was at turn 5 going into a righthander. schumi stopped straight away while hill made it to the pits but couldn't continue with a bent suspension arm.

  3. Hmmmm, I kinda recall this race too. Well, D Hill won in '96 so I guess it would be within around two years or so of that give or take + & - 2 ?.

    Good Question.

  4. Remember it well, as good a driver that Schumacher became the facts remain that he cheated Damon Hill out of that particular World Championship.(94 i think) by intentionally ramming Hill's car because his car was damaged and he was beaten, it's one of the biggest injustice's i've ever seen in sport let alone F1.

Would it be allowed today ? i somehow doubt it, nevermind Damon Hill got his just rewards a couple of seasons after claiming the title and as we know Schumacher went onto to win 7 in total but i wonder if he really counts the one he robbed Hill of ? very sad if he does.

  5. YES!

  6. While those that answered Adelaide 1994 are all correct, I'd like to add my own opinion.

Truth is that Damon Hill got back to the pits with a damaged suspension wishbone.  Patrick Head, chief Mechanic of Williams took one look at it and called it off.  Thing is that Damon only needed a 5th place to win the drivers championship.  A more thorough inspection of the car would have shown it wasn't as badly damaged as first thought (which was later proved to be the case after Williams took the car apart after the race) and a damaged wishbone can be changed in around 10 minutes.

With the lead Schumacher and Hill had over the rest of the field, this should have been enough time for Damon to rejoin the race and charge through the field trying to get the 5th place he needed.

But hey, it's all in the history books now.  Schumacher WDC in 94 and 95, Damon 96 then Jacques Villeneuve in a Williams along side Hill in 97.

    Good days in F1.

  7. Schumi's move was no different to that pulled by Prost on Senna in Suzuka in 89.

Both drivers new the other one was there, both turned into the corner to win the championship through a crash in a questionable but still legitimate move.

Prost never got that much heat for that but then again Schumi's heat generated from the British media of course.

The worst move of all was the one Senna pulled on Prost at the start of the 90 Suzuka GP when he took Prost out in the first corner.

He had lost the run to the first corner so he simply took Prost out.

And of course won the championship because of that.

    Years later he admitted it.

Schumacher's move has been blown out of proportion by the British media, especially after Jerez, like we didn't know at the time he had seen Hill, and needed Jerez to figure it out give me a break.

    So here's Schumacher's:

    and Prost's:

  8. The race you're after is Adelaide 1994, where Schumacher had a problem with his car and he blatantly turned in on Hill as he tried to pass him
