what kind of lighting (specific) does a baby map turtle need?

UVA or UVB...as long as they can bask up to 10 hrs a day. And eat fish whenever the want they will be good for yrs.Sliders, cooter, painted, map, yellow bellied all are basically the same and require the same basic care. Large tanks plenty of veggies and fish for all their vitamin needs.

There are 11 different types of map turtles available on this web site's care sheet list. Choose your specific Map for the correct info.

Well, I checked all 11 species and they all say this, "UVB lighting is needed as well as a heat lamp over the basking spot."

I would go with Reptisun 5.0 florescent bulbs for the UVB

because they are more highly recommended than any other

and any kind of heat lamp because as far as I've heard there is no clear best of the best. Good Luck!
