Mapfre Aspar rider Hector Barbera is aiming to be the fastest Ducati rider in the Motorland Aragon race weekend.
The 14th MotoGP event is the third Spanish event of the 2011 season.
Considering the 2010 event, the Spaniard is anxiously waiting for the race at Argon. During his last visit at Aragon, he was strong throughout the race weekend.
Barbera said, “I had a good weekend in practice at Motorland last year and a good race too. I am confident that we can achieve a top result this weekend. We are in incredible form at the moment, the team is helping me a lot and I am enjoying every session
on the bike.”
The season best result for the Spanish rider was earned at the first Spanish round held at Jerez. He was sixth at the rain-affected race where many riders crashed out of the race.
Following the Mugello event, Barbera has shown big improvement in his pace and race results. His effort to rank himself in the top ten slots has earned him fame. His ninth place finish at Misano was a result of his hard work.
Barbera said, “We have found a good base set-up and we are getting the most out of the bike at the moment. This is also another home race for us and after qualifying as the best Ducati and finishing the race as the second one I am highly motivated.”
Motorland Aragon is one of the favourite tracks for Barbera as it is fully compatible to his riding style.
Currently, the team is aiming to carry on the hard work to achieve good results. Meanwhile, Barbera is looking forward to be the top Ducati rider at his home ground.
Presently, Barbera is ranked at the 11th position in the 2011 MotoGP championship. He is the top satellite Ducati rider in the points table. From San Marino, he is highly motivated to deliver a good show at his home ground.
