Mapfre Aspar rider Hector Barbera is hopeful to improve at Indianapolis Grand Prix – MotoGP news
Mapfre Aspar rider Hector Barbera is optimistic to improve his race pace for the 12th MotoGP round, the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix scheduled to take place on August 28, 2011.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway will host the second American premier class round.
The Spanish satellite Ducati rider ended the Czech GP in tenth place with six points. Barbera has gradually improved his battle position in the race. In the last few rounds, he has been fighting for top ten positions.
Barbera said, “The week off has been great for me to disconnect and spend time with my people, but also to continue to train hard. The second part of the season usually tends to be the hardest part and I want to be in top physical shape so that I can keep
giving one hundred per cent until the end of the season.”
After improvements, he highly focused to sustain his better position. Looking forward to the second half of the season, Barbera is keeping himself in good shape for the stress. It will be the fourth back-to-back race schedule as the San Marino event is due
next after the Indy GP. However, the intense heat will also increase the fun.
In the last round, which was held at Laguna Seca in the US, Barbera claimed a ninth place finish with a good pace throughout the race weekend. Therefore, he will be aiming to score better ahead.
Barbera said, “I am feeling very motivated about the upcoming Grand Prix - things have been working out well for us lately, we are working hard and it shows.”
Recalling the Brno event, Barbera commented that he faced some technical issues and despite that, he fought well.
He anticipates that if he and his team work hard, they can achieve good results in the upcoming events. His ninth place finish at California seemed to be a good achievement but now he feels it needs more improvement.
This time for Indianapolis, Barbera is highly motivated to battle for a better race position than his previous efforts. After Laguna Seca, he hopes to make his second visit to American soil a good race day.
