i recently purchased a maple last year as a present for my mother, unfortunatly it was already slightly dead as it was poorly handled and packaged, my mother deciding to leave it until a sutible time to plant resulted in it receiving little sunlight or wqater and wasent potted.i took it upon myself to plant it in the rear of the garden where it would receive sunlight and shade. It has grown above knee height yet has no leaves and no buds at all, it's a red maple if that helps. Can anyone explain whats happened/ happening and what i should do?

  2. Plants can go into shock and depending on the time of planting it probably didn't have enough energy or time to produce leaves or reproduce since this happens in the spring. The plant is probably growing to establish strength.Next year it should be healthy and big and pretty.
