The Montpellier captain is not taking anything for granted after breaking into the national side, and is looking forward to cement his place in Les Bleus’ starting eleven
Yanga-Mbiwa narrowly missed out on a place in Les Bleus’ Euro 2012 squad, after being left out of the final squad by Laurent Blanc.
However, after winning his first two international caps with France, the 23-year-old is looking forward to become a regular at international stage.
Didier Deschamps rates the young centre-back in high regards and has hinted that he will continue using the Montpellier man at the centre of his defence.

And Yanga-Mbiwa has expressed his delight at being part of Deschamps’ starting eleven.
While talking to reporters, the youngster stated that it was his second game with the PSG centre-back and their partnership worked pretty well.
Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, who graduated from Montpellier youth academy, added that he and his fellow centre-back are good friends and they try to assist each other when required.
"This was [mine and Mamadou Sakho's] second match and we tried to work better together. We communicated and gave a lot of information.”
"We agree on and off the field. After [international duty], he plays in Paris, I play in Montpellier. But outside, we try to ask questions."
Talking about the game against Finland, the Montpellier captain stated that it was a tough game and their opponents made life difficult for them.
On his personal performance in that game, Yanga-Mbiwa said that he did pretty well and is looking forward to France’s next game of the campaign.
Les Bleus were less than convincing in their previous game, and the 23-year-old has asked his team-mates to raise their game in the up-coming matches.
"It was tough. The opponents were smart and aggressive. I have experienced this level now, but the worst is yet to come. We must continue to be successful and raise our game gradually.”
