The Montpellier Herault captain’s current contract is set to expire by the end of next season and it appears that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international is willing to extend it in order to help the club get more money when/if he leaves the Mosson
France international, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is set to put pen to paper on a new contract with reigning Ligue 1 champions Montpellier Herault.
Although the youngster is getting a lot of attention from Italian Serie A giants AC Milan, the defender is willing to extend his contract due to many reasons.
“We’ll see what happens in the coming months. I have filled all the brackets. There was a meeting with Montpellier’s leaders to see how it will be done. I do not want to neglect the club that trained me. We will try to go properly with it. Sure, it is a
very big club that’s interested in me. But I’m not going to bang my head against the wall because I did not go. However, I think that if I keep doing good, clubs will return (their attentions).”
This was what the defender said last weeks when asked about his future. The defender does not hide the fact that he received a lot of interest from AC Milan during the summer transfer window. However, after not being able to make an impressive start to the
current campaign, it appears that the Milanese giants are willing to take their time on making a formal approach for the talented player.
Louis Nicollin is not pleased with Mapou’s recent performances which means that the France international has to hold back on his dream of making a move to the San Siro for the time being.
However, as an eternal optimist, Yanga-Mbiwa is hopeful of making a move to Milan in future but is also keen on helping La Paillade in any way he can.
In other words, the Frenchman is willing to extend his contract at the Mosson in order to make sure that the club gets a good transfer fee for him in the future. According to L’Equipe, the player is on the verge of signing a new contract with the club and
negotiations are already underway between the two parties.
