The Montpellier Herault captain expressed his frustration at not being able to secure a move to either AC Milan or Arsenal but has said that he respect his president’s decision
After consistent performances in Ligue 1, Montpellier Herault captain, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is slowly becoming a regular fixture for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 national side. The youngster was first called for national duty by the then France manager Laurent Blanc last season
and now under Didier Deschamps, the 23-year-old will get more chances of representing Les Bleus.
This summer, Italian Serie A giants, AC Milan and English Premier League outfit http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 FC, approach La Paillade president Louis Nicollin for the transfer of Mapou. However, the eccentric president was not really impressed with what both clubs had to offer
for a player who Loulou feels, deserves a better output.
Reports claim that the Lombardi club offered Montpellier only 6 million euros for the defender and Arsenal also offered pretty much the same amount. Now, Yanga-Mbiwa will have to finish at least the first half of the campaign with Montpellier.
While talking to L’Equipe, the youngster did show some frustration regarding his true false move to Milan. The 23-year-old claims that the president had told him that the club would get a good output for him. However, when Milan’s offer was deemed insufficient,
the player knew that things would become complicated.
“President told me that I had a good output. I was primed to pack my bags. AC Milan came to me. But the president refused the offer. From there, I realised that it would be complicated. I was disappointed when I saw that it would not happen with Milan.”
Despite being disappointed, Yanga-Mbiwa says that he loves the club too much to leave on a sad note.
“The president, he is our employer, our sponsor, it was he who gave us our chance, who trained us. We must have respect for him. There is no point in going to clash with your trainer. I love this club and as captain, I also have to give an example. I want
to leave on good terms,” said Yanga-Mbiwa.
If La Paillade have been fortunate to be able to retain their best player from last season, Yanga-Mbiwa’s contractual situation means that he could leave the club as a free agent next season.
