  3. The prime meridian is also 0° longitude.  It starts at Greenwich, a hillside park next to the Thames River just outside London, England.  Here are two images of the prime meridian.

    the prime meridian is the red line that divides the world in half. if you are looking at a globe, it is the line that is vertical.

    and as you probably know, this is the equator:

    it is a horizontal line, so its the exact opposite of the prime meridian.
