Marantz PMD671 recorder - download problem

How do I download a recording from the media card to my mac? Nothing registers on my computer when I connect to the recorder via usb...

When I connect my Marantz recorder to my PC with the USB cable, it allows me to transfer files to the PC.  However, when I do the same thing with the Mac, nothing happens.  My Mac doesn't recognize it at all.
