Marble sized lump on dog's hind leg...?

Yes, I am taking Lacie to the vet, but not until Tuesday (they're closed Monday). Of course I'm hoping it's just a fatty tumor or cyst or something, but already paranoid. What else could it be??

It's small, on the back towards outside of her left hind leg.

Okay...just tried to find it again and it seems smaller when she's lying down. Maybe a mosquito bite??? I did find one in the house last night!

I so hope that's what it is and I'm a total dorkhead!

  1. I don't know but I hope she'll be okay!!  I can't wait until Tuesday now...

  2. probably just a fatty lump, nothing to worry about, but always good to take to it your vet.

  3. I think Lacy will be okay. I think you really need to start worrying when your pup is acting weird or it's bothering her. Maybe if she was outside today she got an ant bite, or a mosquito bite.

I'm guessing it's not a hairball...I was thinking of my dog, how he'll get little hairballs that look weird, that's just hair. I think dogs can have pimples...I don't think they get zits though. (Now I want to be a dog! lol.)

If your taking her to the vet, I'm sure the doc will tell you it's not that bad.

  4. Many years ago I found a lump, like a hard marble on my cats hind leg.

Of course I freaked out and it turned out to be a calcified ingrown hair!

It popped out looking like a pearl, all that and it started out as a hair!

    Weird.

  5. Have you seen lacie Itching at it?

Could it be those dang spiders? ( I remember when I was up in issaquah, there were tons of spiders )

    I hope its nothing serious.

Can you tell if its uncomfortable for her?

  6. I'm sure your just being a paranoid Mum, and he'll fine.

We're all the same when it comes to our furry friends, find any size lump, and we all think the worst.

I found a lump on my Lab Molly, of course I panicked, flew down the vets as fast as possible convinced I was going to lose her, thankfully it turned out to be a fatty lump, completely harmless, was I relieved, went from hysterical to euphoric in a matter of seconds when the vet said what it was.

So try not to worry too much, chances are it's something harmless.

  7. Could be a skeeter (don't ya hate them)...maybe a spider bite, non-poisonous of course...fingers crossed it is something simple!

  8. my dog had a lump on the back of its neck. turns out it was just where she had some kind of shot and it soon went away maybe that's whats on lacie's  leg?
