The Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper is disappointed on missing out on the opportunity to be with the team in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032 for Euro 2012.

the axe when the final squad was revealed by manager Joachim Low.
The final 23 players were announced after Die Mannschaft suffered a humiliating 5-3 defeat at the hands of Switzerland in an international friendly on Saturday in Basel. Eren Derdiyok scored a superb hat-trick to give the home
side the victory.
Stegen claimed that he is very disappointed as he wanted to represent the country in such an important tournament. He admitted that the loss against the Swiss side definitely played a major part in the decision and stated that
his side was way below par in the game.
The shot stopper had a sensational season with Borussia Monchengladbach and was one of the side’s best players. He is widely being touted as the next http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424 and led his side to the UEFA Champions League after finishing the
previous campaign in 16th place.  
“Of course I am disappointed. Nevertheless, these days with the national team were an interesting experience for me,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The glovesman had a horrible debut against Switzerland as he conceded five times throughout the course of the game. The Monchengladbach man was responsible for two of the goals and clearly looked out of sorts between the sticks.
Ter Stegen is confident that he will get his chances for the national side and regarded the debut as the next step in his career.  
“Despite the defeat to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Switzerland-c3016, my international debut was an important step in my career and I hope that I will get another chance again soon. I would like to wish the team much success at the European Championships,” he concluded.
The 20-year old is a product of Borussia Monchengladbach’s youth system and played his maiden Bundesliga campaign last term.
