Marc Bartra and his UEFA Champions League experience in Barcelona
The Spanish Giants Barcelona were involved in the last UEFA Champions League group stage game and despite the fact that their coach Josep Guardiola decided to play a very young squad, the young Spaniards managed to impress as they won the game 2-0 in their
home ground the Nou Camp. Both the goals came from players who featured for the first time in the European Competition this season.
The Spanish youngster Bojan Krkic and the scorer of the last goal against Real Madrid, Jeffren were the two strikers who featured up front as Guardiola played down a traditional 4-4-2. Thiago Alacantara and Jonathan Dos Santos played in the midfield as Sergio
Busquets and Javier Mascherano played in their favourite holding midfield positions.
After the game, Barcelona were the side who won the game with a two goal margin and each and every young star looked to happy after topping the points table. The young striker Marc Bartra simply could not hide his delight after he came on in the Nou Camp
as a substitute. The Spaniard stepped onto the pitch as a full back and he later said that he felt just like the “usual” player that he is because he is very comfortable at the full back position. Bartra completed 42 passes during the game and even had a shot
on target. He said he was happy that Guardiola called him in the first team and he further added on to his conversation by stating that he would love to be a part of the first team in the future whenever his team needs him.
Marc Bartra also commented about the Ballon d’Or finalists namely Andres Iniesta, Lione Messi and Xavi Hernandez. He said that he was happy to see that the final three “short listed” Ballon d’Or players all belong to the Catalan Giants. He said that he can
simply not compare to them because they are all from another planet and they simply deserve all this.
Marc Bartra had a wonderful game while playing for the first team and it was for the first time that he featured in a Blaugrana jersey under Josep Guardiola. He even stated that he would simply love to play in the first team again and whenever his coach
is going to call him he is going to be there to serve him and the team. Despite the fact that Marc Bartra is a holding midfielder, he said he is very comfortable while playing as a full back and now with Barcelona not really having a suitable substitution
for the Brazilian full back Daniel Alves, they might play the “amazing” youngster Marc Bartra to give him the experience that he requires to become a first team regular.
The only player that can replace Daniel Alves at the moment is the recently signed Sevilla full back Adriano; however, Adriano’s stronger foot is left and that is the reason why he cannot perform fabulously on the right flank.
Barcelona are famous for making outstanding players as they evolve through their youth academy called the La Masia. Marc Bartra is definitely one of those upcoming talents who can easily make it to the first team of the Spanish Champions even though Daniel
Alves is a very tough player to beat to become a regular in Josep Guardiola’s line up.
