The young defender has voiced his apprehension at watching the Mali international parting company with La Blaugrana.
Barcelona’s Marc Bartra has expressed his opinion regarding the departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Seydou-Keita-c33177 from the Nou Camp.
The former Barca B player is apparently quite concerned at his teammate’s decision to leave the Spanish giants.
Bartra believes that Keita’s exit is likely to complicate things for the Azulgrana as the midfielder was quite instrumental in the success achieved by the club.
The 32-year-old was an influential figure on the pitch for his club and had been an important part of the squad in the last three seasons. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mali-c2951 international was part of the Barca side that was able to win 14 trophies in 3 seasons under their head coach,
Pep Guardiola.
Although the athlete’s contract with the Catalan giants extended until the summer of 2014, several reports suggest that the footballer’s decision to leave the club was based on the lack of time he was allowed on the pitch.
Keita’s contract allowed him to leave the club on a free transfer if he was not given the chance to start half the games in one season. Hence, the midfielder was given the opportunity to part ways with the club, as he had to come on from the bench in majority
of the appearances he made in the recently passed season.
As a result, the former Marseille player has signed for Chinese Super League club, Dalian Aerbin, in hopes of getting more time on the pitch than on the bench.
Bartra has emphasized that the contribution made by his former teammate is noticeable and that filling in his place will not be easy for the Catalans.
While talking to reporters, the 21-year-old was quoted as saying:
"Keita's exit will be really hard to deal with because he was a very loved and respected player in the squad. I'm not worried about new signings. Competition is something positive. I love to work hard to improve as a player and get better."
"I'm very motivated, looking forward to start with the first team. Not going to the Games means I can have a good pre-season."
Fighting for a regular spot in the senior team, Bartra has managed to make a total of 4 appearances for his club, in the Spanish La Liga.
