http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marc-Crosas-c23478 remains optimistic over Volga Nizhny Novgorod’s Russian Premier League survival and explained his shock departure to Club Santos Laguna.
Former Volga Nizhny Novgorod midfielder, Marc Crosas, has supported his former club and revealed that the Volgari have enough fire power to come out of the drop zone, during the ongoing Russian Premier League campaign, despite
stiff competition from their opponents.
The Spanish national joined the Volgari last year, after spending three successful seasons with Celtic. Though he remained with the Russian outfit only for a year, Crosas hailed the Volgari fighting spirit and identified them as
a good Russian top division team.
Nizhny Novgorod made a good start to the league campaign this year but a host of poor performances during the second league round limited the Russian outfit from claiming more points.
Speaking on the Volgari weak league performances, the 24-year-old said:
“I think that we were not lucky at times and I think something did not work. But I am sure that our club will be able to keep a place in the Russian Premier League.
As things stand, they are at the fourteenth spot on the league table and seven points clear from the bottom spot.
Crosas revealed that Volga need to claim maximum points in the remaining league matches if they are to avoid playing in the Russian First Division, next year.
“I am very happy to spend ten months of my life in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991, Nizhny Novgorod, playing for Volga. That was an invaluable experience that gave me a destiny. I created a lot of new friends and I learned Russian there.
“But I got an interesting proposal from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mexico-c2956, and therefore I decided to leave.” The Scottish League Cup winner was quoted as saying.
However the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Barcelona-c39078 player does not rule out his return to Russia.
“Volgari are a good team. I don’t know when but I would like to play here again for sure.” Crosas said.
Crosas went on to praise Volga head coach, Dmitri Cheryshev, and revealed that he learnt a lot from the former Russian Cup winner.
