Marc Lièvremont gives hands on training to French team - Rugby news
The French coach,Marc Lièvremont, took part in France’s Stade Français Rugby World Cup (RWC) 2011 training session along with his team. The hands on approach was a condinence booster and a good sign for many.
France’s team has had a bad run before the Six Nations tournament, having had an horrible previous season. The faith of the fans have been experiencin its lowest ebb, especially in the games against Australia and Argentina last year. They lost to Australia
by a humiliating score of 59-16, and lost by 41-13 to Argentina. Blamed for a bad team choice overall and the placement of players, the coach Marc Lièvremont, decided to go ahead and prepare his team for the Six Nations 2011. The coach planned to use a more
hands-on approach to train his players.
The France team then participated in the Six Nations tournament 2011, which started in February 2011 and continued on till March 2011. The six nations’ that were competing for the cup include England, France, Italy, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The victorious
team, England took home the Six Nations cup.
The Six Nations 2011 however changed the tide towards good, for the French team. They obtained the second position on the Six Nations Table by the end of the tournament. The hands-on approach by the coach appears to show results for the French team.
The preparations of the team for the RWC 2011 are now underway. The coach is again planning to use his hands-on approach to train his team. In fact the coach is so involved with the teams’ training that on Tuesday July 12, he was seen as participating in
the training.
Previously, Lièvremont himself played rugby for France and during 1995-1999 he had been capped 25 times. He joined the France team as their coach in 2007 and led them to victory in the Six Nations tournament 2010 against England.
Lièvremont’s approach which started for the Six Nations has been seen in the training for the RWC 2011. He took it one step further in the training on July 12. He was seen to encourage the Stades’ by joining the team forwards on the defense line himself.
He played the practice maneuvers along with the whole team. He trained in the team tasks himself, along with his players.
Apart from the coach’s influence on the form of the team, the re-joining of Dimitri Szarzewski, the team’s hooker, is also seen as a positive force for the RWC 2011. The player was out of running because of an injury to his foot. He is now recovered and
has joined in the trainings, after a two weeks treatment at the Athletes' Performance Centre, Florida.
The France team looks in good form and has an active training schedule in which the coach Marc Lièvremont participates physically. The fans of France can breathe easily knowing that the team is in good shape for the upcoming Rugby World Cup 2011.
