Marc Lievremont announces French squad - France v Wales, Six Nations update
Marc Lievremont has announced the final squad for France for their last fixture against Wales in Six Nations. After the alarming defeat from Italy, the French coach made five visible changes to the squad and made sure that in the next match there is no blunder
made.
The 22-21 loss caused a lot of reviews and predictions go down the drain. Lievremont seemed to be extremely disturbed by the outcome and was expecting a better result. France chances for the title have vanished with this defeat and the next match with Wales
will be a fight for second position on the table.
After the loss Lievremont has sidelined Sebastien Chabal, Sylvain Marconnet, Yannick Jauzion, Aurelien Rougerie and Clement Poitrenaud from the team for the Wales fixture in the last Six Nations venture for France.
The sidelining of these players have made room for new and ignored names in this year’s campaign. Damien Traille and Imanol Harinordoquy have been included in the squad and been introduced to the benches. On the other hand, Alexis Palisson, Thomas Domingo
and Marty have been directly inducted to the starting lineup of the French side.
Palisson is coming in at wing for Yoann Hugget, who is benched for the next clash. Damien Traille and Marty will be teaming up the centre positions, taking care of the French midfield, while the Welsh side, which is coming in from a controversial victory
against Ireland will be taking on from the front.
