Marc Ratner: I will strive hard to implement unified rules for MMA all over the world – UFC News
Marc Ratner, one of the well known UFC executives, recently shared his thoughts on being appointed as the chairman of the IMMAF’s technical committee and said that he will strive hard to impose unified rules for all the mixed martial art bouts taking place
anywhere in the world adding that he will help the apex sport regulator in defining guidelines and in implementing its regulations worldwide.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently won another laurel when one of its executives, Marc Ratner, was unanimously appointed as the chairman of the International Mixed Martial Art Federation Committee’s technical committee.
UFC is being considered as the apex promotion organisation for the mixed martial art sport and therefore the appointment of one of its executives in the regulatory authority will not only revamp the sport but will also bring UFC to new heights of fame, fortune
and acceptability.
IMMAF is a non-profit organisation, basically an initiative meant to resolve several issues that hampered the growth of the sport. The organisation has been working since 2009 and has substantially aided in nipping various matters that somewhat tarnished
the sports image.
During the press conference, Marc commented that he will try his level best to benefit the organisation and the sport by enabling them to apply rules globally. Ratner added that we will strive hard to regulate the fact that whenever there is an MMA bout
going on, the rules and the regulations will be the same no matter where or in which part of the world the fight is taking place.
Marc commented, “I’m very honored to work with the IMMAF and help with formulating guidelines and instituting the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts throughout the world. As the chairman of the technical committee, our mission will be to have the same rules
and medical standards wherever MMA is happening.”
As per the press statement, the newly constructed committee “will have the task of researching and analyzing best practice in the area of MMA regulations for the purpose of future IMMAF recommendations and rule sets.”
August Wallen, the president of the prestigious IMMAF gratefully commented that he is thankful to Marc for accepting the offer adding that there is no other best suitable person than Ratner who can lead the committee emphatically and can work for the benefit
and expansion of the sport.
At the moment, IMMAF has just two members Sweden and Norway and their plan also involves the expansion of its membership to 25-plus countries.
