Marcel Lachemann signs with Los Angeles Angels as special assistant to GM Jerry Dipoto
The Los Angeles Angels are certainly taking steps towards rebuilding their team and making some good changing in their top management for better results in the 2012 Major League season.
Recently, they agreed to bring former Colorado Rockies pitching coach Marcel Lachemann into the Angels franchise as special assistant to general manager Jerry Dipoto. Marcel has relatively good experience as special assistant position to GM with the Rockies
as he also worked extremely hard at the same position assisting general manager Dan O’ Dowd for over nine years and developed many successful strategies.
Lachemann has recently resigned from the Rockies after spending 12 years but his resignation created a big opportunity for the Angels to sign him and learn some leadership skills from a dedicated professional of Marcel’s calibre.
Many baseball experts were certain as Marcel will now be coming into the franchise where he started his coaching career in 1984. These experts started talking about his next affiliation when they saw Lachemann speaking with the reporters after he resigned
from the Rockies franchise last month.                                                                                                                Lachemann said, “I have different ideas on the development of pitchers, Not that I’m right; there’s all different
ways to do it. I just don’t feel comfortable being there and working with some kid and saying, ‘This is the way the Rockies do it,’ if I don’t believe in it By the same point, I don’t want to be the guy standing in the background saying, ‘I don’t know why
they do it that way.’ When that becomes the case, it’s just time to move on.”
It is pretty clear now that Lachemann was unhappy with the way the Rockies were going without his proper consent. He was also very frustrated on the partial behaviour of Rockies GM Don O’ Dowd with certain players and the way he treats them during a specific
game. These factors led Marcel Lachemann to take this decision of resigning from the Rockies franchise.
Now, since he has signed a new commitment with the Los Angeles Angels, it will certainly help the Angels’ roster for the next couple of years to see themselves in the postseason.
