The World Cup winning manager believes that Italy can repeat his success story of 2006 in the upcoming European tournament

The Azzurri’s preparation for the Euro 2012 have been jeopardised by a similar match fixing probe that has put a number of Italy squad members under suspicion, and also saw the police raid Domenico Criscito’s room at the Coverciano
training grounds.
Lippi stated that the striking resemblance of events remind him of his famous 2006 campaign with the Nazionale. The current Guangzhou Evergrande coach insisted that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 players’ attention may have been diverted by the scandal,
but believes that their focus will return completely to the Euros once they set-off for the host country.
The former Juventus coach stated that he has a lot of empathy for the Italy manager, and believes that the week leading up to the European tournament will not be an easy one for the team.
The veteran tactician stated that his advice to the Azzurri chief is to maintain his focus on the upcoming challenge, and stay calm in the face of the scandalous adversity.
While talking to TG1, the 64-year-old said:

Prandelli has recently stated that he is ready to pull out his team from Euro 2012, in order to aid the ongoing investigation.
When asked about his opinion on the Azzurri chief’s statement, Lippi insisted that the statement was not meant to demoralise but to provoke the players.
