Barclays Premier League interests Marcello Lippi
Former Italian national team coach, Marcello Lippi, is now ready to make his return to club management. The tactician has expressed his desire to opt for an outfit that is playing in the Barclay’s English Premier League.
The 63-year-old former midfielder has served as the coach for many great outfits in the Italian top flight with the likes of Inter Milan, Juventus FC and SSC http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 being some of his previous employers. The legendary tactician had one of the most successful
managerial stints of all time with Juventus, where he won 3 Scudettos, a Coppa Italia and a UEFA Champions league between 1994 and 1999. The coach then spent a forgettable year with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan before returning to fame once again with the old lady, winning
consecutive Scudetto titles in 2002 and 2003.
Lippi masterminded the Azzurri World Cup triumph of 2006 to enter his name onto the pages of history. His second stint with the Italian national team, however, was a complete disaster; Lippi and his men crashed out of the opening round at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757 2010
in what was the most humiliating world cup campaign in the nation’s proud footballing history.
The former Old Lady boss was rumoured to be close to signing for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032 national team but nothing concrete happened. Lippi is now ready to return to the game and craving for a new challenge. The two-time winner of International Federation of Football
History and Statistics (IFFHS) World's best Club Coach believes he needs to earn his credentials outside of the Italian peninsula if he is to be considered a true great.
Recently, while appearing as a guest on a radio show, Lippi said:
"I miss coaching - this is normal. My years have been intense and rewarding. There were also disappointments, but this is absolutely normal because you cannot always win. In this respect I can only be satisfied, but the desire to do my job is still there.
The future? I'd love to coach in the Premier League.”
While the 63-year-old remains one of the best coaches in the history of the beautiful game, it remains to be seen whether a top European club gambles on him, especially since the legend has exhibited increasingly rigid attitude in the latter part of his
career.
