The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 manager believes that the ex-Juventus boss is a great option for the newly promoted outfit, and praised the tactician’s attention to detail.
Marcello Lippi believes that Sampdoria have made an excellent choice by appointing Ciro Ferrara as the new boss of the Italian outfit, and hailed the tactical abilities of the manager.
The Samp recently took the initiative to sign the Italy under-21 chief as their new coach, following the club’s promotion to Serie A.
Ferrara also acted in the assistant capacity for Lippi, during his World Cup 2006 glory campaign with the Azzurri.
The veteran tactician stressed that the result of the memorable world cup triumph is a testament to the 45-year-old’s talent.
The current coach for Chinese outfit Guangzhou Evergrande praised Ferrara’s ability to work with the young talent, and insisted that the transnational experience of the manager will also help the newly promoted club as they gear up to face the big guns of
Italy’s top flight.
The former Juventus manager went on to praise his ex-assistant’s quest for perfection and the attention to detail.
“The work he did with the Azzurrini underlines the qualities of Ciro. He is good at basing his work on young players and his international experience is an absolute guarantee. He studies things to perfection as a Coach and he ignores nothing.”
The new coach is expected to be joined by former Juventus goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi and Massimo Neri at Sampdoria, in an effort by the outfit to overhaul its strength to take on Serie A.
Marcello Lippi was all praise for the support staff as well, and insisted that together with Ferrara they will make a great team to take the Samp to new levels.
The veteran manager went on to express his belief that the Italy under-21 coach will continue to be as good a manager as he was a player.
“I’ve been told that he will be followed by [former Juventus goalkeeper] Angelo Peruzzi and Massimo Neri. They will form an excellent staff. Ferrara could become as successful a Coach as he was a player.”
