Marcello Lippi tips Napoli to beat Inter Milan but expecting a tight game: Serie A news
Former Inter Milan and Napoli manager, Marcello Lippi, considers Walter Mazzarri’s men as favourites for the Serie A clash between two of his former employers.
Inter will host Napoli in an important Serie A encounter at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Saturday, October 1st, 2011. The Nerazzurri have had a terrible start to the 2011/12 league season and have registered only one
win in their four games thus far. On the other hand, the Partenopei side is placed on the 4th spot with seven points.
The league has been extremely competitive thus far and only 4 points separate leaders, Juventus and 16th placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567. The Italian World Cup winning boss added that he cannot quantify the superiority Napoli have over
the Nerazzurri and it will be a close contest. The tactician added that Claudio Ranieri’s men will miss http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edinson-Cavani-c11955.
While talking to the reporters Lippi said, “I do not think of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 as numerically or qualitatively inferior to Inter. The Nerazzurri are weakened by absences: it is not easy to make do without [Wesley] Sneijder. Then, Napoli
will find it hard to replace someone like [Edinson] Cavani: like all great players he is one that his team will miss.”
The 63-year-old, who managed both Inter and Napoli for a year, admitted that he will be neutral supporter of the game but he is predicting a close win for the Partenopei side.
“I coached both teams and for this reason won't be cheering for one over the other. I couldn't say for certain [on a favourite] but Napoli certainly has an opportunity to be seized, given the absences Ranieri will have."
The 2009/10 treble winners have installed new manager in the form of Claudio Ranieri as a replacement for Gian Piero Gasperini, who had a miserable time at the club since joining in the summer. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 boss started his
Nerazzurri career with a win against Bologna last weekend.
