The 2006 World Cup winning Italian coach gives his take on the contenders of the European championship.
The Germans were placed in the most difficult group of the tournament, and yet they came out of the group unscathed. Joachim Low’s men cruised to three straight victories, beating the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 and eliminating
the tournament favourites http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753.
Many bookies had tipped the Dutch to go all the way but they faltered in the first hurdle. After being in a sensational form, the Germans are heavily tipped to dethrone http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011, who remain the team to beat.
Marcello Lippi thinks otherwise, the 64-yeard old Italian believes the Germans are a class above the rest. They have some of the best players in their ranks, in Mario Gomez they have the best striker in the world, who scores with
just one touch.
The Italian did not single out the Bayern Munich striker for praise, he believes the Mannschaft have an http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 full of talented players, who can dictate the game on their own.
"Gomez is in a state of grace, if he has the ball, he scores goals. But there is not only Gomez, the Mannschaft have many other weapons too," he is quoted as saying in an interview.
The legendary Italian coach also gave his take on his home country’s progress at the European Championship.

Azzurri through to the next round.
"We unlocked [Ireland] psychologically, then finally found the goals through [Antonio] Cassano and [Mario] Balotelli," he added.
Germans face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-c13609 Santos’s men have proved in the group stages that they do not give up easily.
The Greeks are capable of defending against the most skilful and attacking teams, and will provide a stern test for Joachim Low’s men, who will not underestimate their opponents.
