A brace by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Markel-Susaeta-c24153 ensured a comfortable victory for Athletic Club against Real Sociedad, helping them retain bragging rights in Basque country.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Athletic-Club-c38535 continued their charge in La Liga rankings as they welcomed Real Sociedad to the San Mames.

Markel Susaeta scored a brace to ensure a plucky win for the hosts, propelling them above Malaga CF, claiming the 4th place in La Liga points table.
Susaeta opened the scoring for the hosts as he applied the finishing touches to a move which included Andoni Iraola, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ander-Herrera-c5543. His second came after the interval and against the run of play, hitting the back of the net from
a free-kick outside the penalty area.
After the match, Athletic manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcelo-c23554 Bielsa, was full of praise for the 24-year-old winger, stating that “there was no denying his influence on the result.”
Despite the 2-0 win, Bielsa was unhappy with Los Leones second-half performance.
“We were unable to attack and when that happened we lost control of the match,” said the Argentine.
On the other hand, Real Sociedad boss, Philippe Montanier, was unhappy with his side’s defeat in the derby and lamented the result after their emphatic second-half performance.
“The reaction and quality we showed after the break is a good sign for the future, although it was a great disappointment to lose.”
Despite the questionable decisions against his side, the French tactician decided against criticising the referee and questioned his side’s inability to get a positive result in the crunch La Liga encounter.
“I’ve still not seen the video but for me Mateu Lahoz is a good referee, although perhaps his two decisions were very important ones that decided the final result. But we had no luck and ultimately the technical quality to have got something positive,”
he added.
For the time being, Real Sociedad find themselves in mid-table obscurity. The San Sebastian-based outfit are 13th in La Liga, collecting 30 points from their 25 league fixtures. They are 6 points adrift of relegation slots,
and 7 behind a UEFA Champions League qualification berth.
