The Argentine tactician admitted it was a much needed win for the Basque entity, who overcame Jose Luis Mendilibar’s Osasuna 1-0 at the San Mames.
A 12th minute goal from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aritz-Aduriz-c6516 was enough for Athletic Bilbao to secure a victory over visitors Osasuna. The Reyno de Navarra based entity gave a good account of their abilities but never threatened to take the game away from Los Leones,
deservedly losing the fixture with a slim margin.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcelo-c23554 Bielsa was understandably pleased with the performances of his charges as they secured the three points on offer to move out of relegation slots. The Argentine coach hailed the dynamic output of his side, whilst also appreciating the hard work put
in by his charges throughout the 90 minutes of action.
“The team was very intense, very dynamic, very hardworking,” the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chile-c2871 national team manager said while addressing a press conference after the fixture.
Despite accumulating all three points on offer, Bielsa admitted the match was unpredictable and could have gotten any result. He added that while his charges played at a high level for the majority of the minutes, they were not dominant throughout the course
of the fixture.
“80 minutes of our play was of a very good standard.”
“The game could have ended 1-1 or 4-0. It was quite confusing. The victory though, was very much needed. We did not start well, and did not end well, but for the rest of the game we played well.”
Osasuna coach, Jose Luis Mendilibar, had similar words of appreciation for his charges despite registering their fifth defeat of the 2012/13 La Liga season, their fourth on the road.
Mendilibar hailed his players for their efforts on the football pitch, claiming that they could not have given anything more.
Continuing on the topic, the experienced coach claimed that Aduriz’s early goal set them back and it was always going to be difficult to claw back into the domestic fixture after it.
“We were in the game right until the final whistle,” he told a press conference. “I cannot criticise them because they have given everything.”
“They scored after 10 minutes which is always difficult. We need to be prepared for that. As soon as they scored, our game changed – that should not have been the case.”
