The Brazilian full-back came to the aid of his Real Madrid team-mate, stating that the Frenchman is going through a ‘bad streak’ and will be back soon.
Karim Benzema was recently accused of giving out lethargic performances for the Spanish giants, Real Madrid.
Los Blancos are currently playing their pre-season friendly games, and the Frenchman has not been at his best throughout the campaign.
The Spanish capital-based club have performed phenomenally during most of their games, but they suffered a 5-2 loss at the hands of Benfica and since then many fans have been criticising Jose Mourinho’s men.
Since http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcelo-c23554 recently gave out an interview and came at the aid of the Frenchman.
The Brazilian full-back, who is currently representing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 at the London Olympics, believes that Benzema is only experiencing a bad streak and he will soon be back to his very best.
The French striker might be experiencing fatigue as he has been playing a lot of football lately.
Karim Benzema was Real Madrid’s first-choice striker throughout the last season’s campaign. After benching Gonzalo Higuain, Benzema showed that he is worth the money which Los Blancos spent on him.
However, after playing throughout the season, he was selected for the French team which took part in the Euro 2012 campaign.
Therefore, Benzema had to join his national side in one of the best international footballing competitions and that could be a reason why he is fatigued.
Playing a whole season with Madrid, and then playing for the French side in the Euro 2012 can definitely get very hectic.
While speaking about Karim Benzema, Marcelo said:
"Benzema has great quality, we all know that. I believe people are putting a lot of pressure on him when there actually is none.”
"We all have good and bad streaks. I'm sure he will help us a lot in La Liga and I'm convinced he will give his all in every game he plays."
Karim Benzema is still expected to be Real Madrid’s first-choice striker, despite the fact that Mourinho has players like Jose Callejon and Gonzalo Higuain at his disposal.
