The Bianconeri captain insists that the three crucial matches in March could decide the fate of the Scudetto and Coppa Italia for the Old Lady.
Juventus are set to play seven games in March, and Alessandro Del Piero believes that his team’s fate for the season will be decided in the month.
The striker believes that the two games scheduled in space of just four days, could be the turning point for Juventus’ Serie A campaign.
Through his personal website, the veteran footballer said:
“They will be two fundamental and important moments of our season – the first against Chievo at home and then the rescheduled game at Bologna which was postponed because of the snow.”
The Turin giants are placed second in the league table with just one point difference with leaders A.C Milan, albeit having an extra game in hand. A victory against Bologna and Chievo will see La Signora dismantle the Rossoneri
and consolidate their position at the top of the Serie A points table. However, a defeat could see the hopes of another Serie A title slip fast from the hands of the reviving club.
On the other side, the Bianconeri hold a 2-1 advantage over the Rossoneri after winning the first-leg of the semi-final of Coppa Italia. The second-leg of the semi-final is scheduled to be played after four league games this month.
“It has been some time since we got to the month of March fighting for two objectives – the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia.” Del Piero added.
The veteran insists that the team understands the importance of the month to the future of the club, and the players are focused on the challenges ahead.
“A month is about to start which will say a lot about our future and we have to be ready for it. We are concentrating on just this.”
Del Piero, 37, is expected to leave the club after the end of the 2011/12 season. The veteran striker has scored just one goal in the ongoing campaign, and remains six short of Roberto Baggio’s record of 292 goals in Italian football.
