The former Empoli midfielder went on to explain that the Ghanaian international has all the requisite qualities necessary for being successful at Juventus.
The Azzurri international central midfielder remarked that it did not come as a shock to him on how quickly the striker had adjusted to the game at the Turin outfit. Asamoah gave a strong account for himself in his Lega debut as he put in a commanding performance,
in the slightly controversial 2-0 victory over Parma.
He was integral to the opening goal of the club in the new season as he gave his first assist for the first goal of Juventus in the 2012-13 season as the club sought to defend their hard earned Scudetto. The former Udinese man is expected to have a bright
future at the club, and Marchisio attested to the general perception held of the player after having worked with Asamoah at close quarters.
Marchisio went on to comment on Asamoah’s strengths by stating the combination of his tactical awareness and superior strength made him a tough foe to deal with, and remarked:
“I'm not at all surprised by how well Asamoah has settled in. He's got great physical and technical qualities – everything needed to be a success at Juventus.”
However, the match was not as easily won as the score line suggests and they were made to work hard for the victory. The team lacked impetus in the first half; however, they came back strongly in the next half to give a solid account and proved too tough
for Parma to handle.
When Marchisio was quizzed on how he felt the match proceeded, he went on to state that the three points were all that mattered, and that is what they were able to do despite the tough opposition. He further went on to state that the team needs to keep on
working hard, remarking:
“We won and that's what we wanted. We'll take the three points, but we know we have to keep on improving. I don't think there was much difference between the two halves because we did create chances when we increased the tempo in the first period.”
Juventus also captured Asamoah’s partner http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mauricio-Isla-c24922 from Udinese, however, the Chilean is currently injured.
