A.C Milan goalkeeper, Marco Amelia, is eagerly anticipating the Supercoppa Italiana clash with bitter rivals, Inter Milan.
The Italian Serie A Champions take on the Coppa Italia winners in a one-off game held every year and Amelia is desperate to win this year’s contest.  
The two teams will lock horns next month at the Beijing National Stadium and the goalkeeper believes that his team is in the right shape to kick start the season.
The former Genoa shot-stopper is really impressed with the performances of his team in the training camp and believes that the squad has the potential to defend their title. The 29-year-old added that the friendly games will provide
his team with good match practice ahead of the 2011/12 campaign and they will benefit a great deal.
Talking to the reporters Amelia said, “We are working towards the first real matches and that will give us a real idea of how we can approach the Supercup, which is important. Before that though the coach and the club have organised
a whole series of friendlies, starting with the match against Solbiate and then finishing with the tournament [Audi Cup] in Munich.

“These friendlies will help us prepare properly for the match against Inter, a game we must win because we really want to continue our positive streak in the derbies.”

to win their first Scudetto in seven years and Amelia is confident that he will replicate his last season’s performances again.
Amelia is impressed with the additions made to the squad in the summer transfer window and he is confident that Milan will remain the team to beat in the country. The goalkeeper is upbeat that his team will improve on their mediocre
UEFA Champions League record of late and wants to win the title in the upcoming season.
