The Nerazzurri director deems talks of it being the end of an era for the San Siro outfit as being premature, despite the poor run of form this season.
Inter Milan have been in appalling form of late, having lost six of their last seven matches in all competitions.
This abysmal run of form has seen the Nerazzurri slump to the seventh position in the Serie A standings. They are behind Udinese, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603, and the last place of UEFA Champions League is looking
like a bleak possibility for the Beneamata.
In comparison to other teams which are competing for the third-place, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 have the worst run of form and they will even struggle to qualify for the Europa League. There has been great pressure on the Inter
board to revamp the management of the Nerazzurri club with manager, Claudio Ranieri, feeling the heat of the Inter seat.
With the current dip in form and Inter not being feared in the Serie A as they were before, talks have been rife that Nerazzurri’s era of terror is over.
La Beneamata sporting director has been quick to dispel such theories, and while talking to Sky Sport Italia, in his interview, he remarked:
"It's a bit premature to say that our cycle has come to an end. We shouldn't forget that before this run of negative results there were lots of good results.”
The former striker then went on to discuss the club’s poor form and commented:
“Then we lost a few games, some of which were against teams that weren't entirely irresistible. We also ended up drawing one in quite a shocking way so there has been a bit of a dip in confidence. Now we
have to get that back again.”
To add to the miseries of the San Siro giants, their UEFA Champions ambitions have also taken a hammer blow. Inter suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Olympique Marseille in the first-leg of the last 16
round of the competition recently.
