Marco Huck: I can nail Alexander Povetkin to grab WBA World heavyweight gold - Boxing news
Marco Huck, the current WBO cruiserweight champion, claims that he can beat Alexander Povetkin easily since he knows his weaknesses. He further added that the only reason he has stepped up to fight for Alexander’s WBA World heavyweight title is that he knows
he can nail the Russian number one heavyweight.
Marco and Alexander recently attended the pre-bout press conference and bombarded each other with one-liners. Both men will officially collide in a 12-round brawl which will take place at Porsche-Arena situated in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
Marco, the number one German cruiserweight will attend his career’s 36th bout. Huck, infamous as ‘Käpt'n Huck’, has built himself an impressive resume. He has lost just one brawl to the American Steve Cunningham and since then boasts a long winning streak.
The orthodox pugilist has collected 25 of his wins by kayo which proves the lethalness and raw power of his fist. A good combination of right-left can easily take down even the most resilient individuals.
The young Berliner commented, “I´m ready to become heavyweight champion. I would not have taken the fight if I didn´t believe in myself. Povetkin is good, but I can beat him. On Saturday I will be the new champ. He is going down!”
As aggressive the hot-headed 27-year-old Marco was, Alexander infamous as the Sasha, replied in an altogether opposite calm manner. Sasha reiterated while praising his former sparring partner’s bravery and said, “At first I was surprised about Huck´s challenge
because he has never fought at heavyweight before. But I am happy to defend my title against anybody out there. I am in great shape and I will win.”
The coaches of both men were also happy and quiet energetic at the engagement. Ulli Wegner who tutelages Marco said that this bout will be the first step in revamping the rotten heavyweight division and added that both fighters have great talent but Huck
has worked hard and he has underwent stern training schedule to specially prepare for this encounter.
Alexander Zimin, the man behind Povetkin revealed that the Russian champion is at his careers best shape and he has never been so strong and fit adding that Sasha has enhanced his capabilities by almost 20-30 percent. Alexander will not only put his title
on the line but also his winning streak. Povetkin has been in a total 23 brawls and has collected 16 wins by KO.
